God Never Changes

Just look around us at all the sin and the bad things that are happening. Sin abounds because we live in a fallen world, and so it is easy for a person to be fearful. Changes are forever-present, and not every change, as we know is positive. If we trust in The Lord Jesus Christ, however, we have no reason to be afraid. We never allow His promises to fail. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever.  When we are fearful, let us remember that God and His goodness to us are unchanging; and because of this, we are ever secure in Him. God will not forsake us.

All of the Promises of God are "Yea" and "Amen", but all of the promises of God are conditional. They based upon our saying "Yea" and "Amen" to God. Our health can fail us tomorrow but God’s strength is made perfect in our weakness. How can we explain that? Here is a good example. At 91 years old my dad was close to the end of his life. His frail body would no longer let him stand. His physical body had to depend on everything and everybody, but his inner being grew stronger because God was giving my dad that inward strength which he needed.

We may have adversity, hard times, harsh conditions, danger, or many other things come upon us -- but He draws closer to us than a brother and whispers in our ear, "In the world, ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."  Our friends and family may leave or desert us, so that we end up saying the same as Paul said, "No man stood with me." Where has everybody gone? But listen, friends, we can also say the same as Paul did in the next verse, "Notwithstanding, the Lord stood with me," because Jesus will never forsake us or leave us.

And even when death draws near He assures and declares to us, "I am the resurrection and the life." My dad on his deathbed had that assures and was looking for that life in the heavenly city whose builder and maker is God. I know what dad was thinking- “What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see”. What great comfort in knowing that my Savior is referred to in Isaiah 9:6 as "the everlasting Father" and as One with whom is no variableness or shadow of turning because He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

God was with the Hebrews when He parted the red sea and fed them for the next forty years. He was with the three Hebrew children in the fiery furnace, He was with Daniel in the lion's den. He also protected David all his life from numerous dangers. Many others in the Bible he did the same for and He will do the same for us today because He is the same yesterday, today, and forever!
