The Falling Away

In my seventy years of life, churchgoing, in America, has declined and also has started to deteriorate in America; the family no longer goes to church as a family unit. There was a saying; the family that prays together stays together and I submit also the family that goes to church together stays together. I have noticed over my lifetime that families went from going to church together to the parents just sending their children to church, to not sending them at all. It is a shame and a disgrace when a child, is asked, does not know who Jesus is. I’m glad that I was raise in church by a mother and father who went with me. I’m proud that at a early age I was shown the way. That “Way” went from my parents to me, to my children, and now their children. Sad to say this “Way” is on the decline in America. With this decline comes the decay of our great country. It is so sad. My heart aches.

How Godly was our country? A lot of our country’s laws that were based on faith no longer apply. As we look back on them today most people and even some Christians laugh at these laws and there is nothing that is Holy unto the Lord anymore. Many faith-based laws have ended. For example, it’s no longer a crime for stores to open on the Sabbath. It’s no longer illegal to buy a lottery ticket or a cocktail or a magazine showing nudity. Mandatory prayer was removed from public schools. The little lamb could not come to school anymore. Police, shootings, drugs, and many other things have replaced the lamb.

Desperate women and girls were allowed to end unwanted pregnancies because the law against abortion is no more. Murdering babies in the mother’s womb are the norm for today. Gays were allowed to elude prison, and finally allowed to marry, even parade down the street defying God. The White House was lit up in rainbow colors honoring homosexuals; Birth control was legalized for all couples. It’s no longer a crime for unwed couples to live together. It’s no longer a crime for movies and books to present sex in the rawest form. Teaching of evolution is allowed in public school biology classes. And now we have the Muslim religion trying to dominate our country. Churches now send the helpless, the ones in need of spiritual help to psychologist to solve their problems instead of the pastor doing his part. Nothing manmade such as psychology will ever solve spiritual problems. It is only what Christ did at the cross that will solve man’s problems. No wonder so many young people are leaving churches.

A new report, just out, says that Americans who say their religion is “none” have become the largest segment in the United States. They now constitute 25 percent of adults, compared to 21 percent who are Catholic and 16 percent who are evangelical. The secular tide is sure to rise, because 39 percent of adults under 30 have no church affiliation. (This is because they were never carried to church or taught at home about the Lord Jesus Christ.)

The falling away of our Christian faith has been “swift and dramatic”, in recent decades.  Protestants, Catholics and finally evangelicals are falling away. Southern Baptists lost 200,000 members in 2014, then another 200,000 in 2015.

I leave the reader with what I am going to do and I hope that you will do; AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE WE WILL SERVE THE LORD.

Judgement is Turned Backwards

And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter. Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the LORD saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment. (Isaiah 59:14-15
As a consequence, every facet of the person, and even of the entirety of a nation, suffers a inversion. Things are upside down, and consequently do not, and in fact can not work right. The phase "Judgement is turned away backward" refers to Righteousness being out, while unrighteousness is in. (From Jimmy Swaggart Commentary)
Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if ye can find a man, if there be any that executeth judgment, that seeketh the truth; and I will pardon it. (Jeremiah 5:1)
Other than Jeremiah's little flock there seemed to be no one in Jerusalem, be they priest or prophet, who "executed judgement ans sought the truth. Jerusalem was that far gone, and yet very few would have even remotely considered such. Other than Jeremiah and his little flock there was not a single man who sought the ways of the Lord. What an indictment!
The same as it was with Israel then it is the same with the United States now. I thank the Lord Jesus Christ that I'm His Child.

Image result for love for christ
 Draw me, we will run after thee: the king hath brought me into his chambers: we will be glad and rejoice in thee we will remember thy love more than wine: the upright love thee. {Song of Solomon 1:4}

Believers love Jesus with a deeper affection than they dare to give to any other being. They would sooner lose father or mother than part with Christ. They hold all earthly comforts with a lose hand, but carry Him locked securely in their hearts. They voluntarily deny themselves for His sake, but the are not driven to deny Him. It is a meager love that the fire of Persecution can dry up; the true believer's love is a deeper stream than this.
Men have labored to divide the faithful from their Master, but their attempts have been fruitless in every age. Neither crowns of honor nor frowns of anger have untied this Gordian knot. This is no everyday attachment that the world's power may at length dissolve. Neither men nor devils have found a key that opens this lock. Never has the craft of Satan been more at fault than when he has exercised it in seeking to tear apart this union of two divinely welded hearts.
It is written, and nothing and nothing can blot out the sentence, "The upright love thee." The intensity of the love of the upright, however, is not so much to be judged by what it appears as what the upright long for. It is our daily lament that we can not love enough. Would that our hearts were capable of holding more and reaching further. Like Samuel Rutherford, we sigh and cry, "Oh for as much love as would go around the earth, and over heaven-- yea, the heaven of heavens, and ten thousand worlds-- that I might let all out upon fair, fair, only fair Christ."
Alas, our longest reach is but a span of love, and our affection is but a drop in the bucket compared with what he is due. Measure our love by our intentions, and it is high indeed; we trust that this is how our Lord judges it. Oh, that we could give all the love in all our hearts in one great mass, a gathering together of all that loves Him who "is already lovely" {Song 5:16}

What Can Wash Away Our Sins

The Blood of Jesus Christ His Son Cleanseth us from all sin [1 John 1-7]

If you notice the above verse did not say "shall cleanse" meaning sometime in the future your sins will be taken away but it says "cleanseth" meaning right now. Forgiveness of {all} sin is for now this present time. It is a privilege for today, this very hour. The very second a person who is a sinner calls out to Jesus and ask for forgiveness, putting his trust in him that person is one hundred percent forgiven and he is set free from his sins.

It is so sad when some Christians put there salvation in other things instead of that precious Blood of God's Son. Some people and denominations will credit their salvation to the blood and works. We as Christians should have works if we proclaim Christ as our Savior, but works will not save you and it did not save me. I pass out tracts, write articles, visit the sick, go to church, do things for people who need help, and other things, but that does not save me. Only by the blood of Jesus Christ the battle has been won.

Some other denominations will tell you that you must be baptized in water to be saved. One man once told me if I was not baptized in water immediately after I was saved, I just went down to the alter a sinner and came up a sinner. How deceived he was. The blood that Jesus shed for me on that old cross cleansed me from all sin and set me free. It was the Blood of my Savior that saved my soul.

Yes there are some who believe that baptism washes away sins. This is not scriptural. The Bible says, "Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood" (Rev. 1:5). When one hears the Word, the Holy Spirit takes the word and convicts or sin, of righteousness, of judgment and works godly sorrow which brings repentance and faith; faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Our sins are washed away in His blood and not by water.

Later I was baptized in water with other converts from the Church of God that I was attending. We went on a church bus to a pond and proclaimed our salvation as we went under. It was a beautiful day, we sang songs about our Savior, we praised His name, but it was not the water that saved any of us. It was the Blood that Jesus Christ Shed on the cross.

Even though water baptism does not save a person it is an outward showing of a finished work on the inside of us. We are showing the world that we have been redeemed by the Blood of Jesus. If you are a Christian saved by the Blood of Jesus Christ and there is a chance for you to be baptized in water, do it.

Then there are other denominations that say you must be baptized in the Holy Ghost before you can be saved and go to heaven. There are other denominations that say that you must walk through a door at a certain time and they have a name for the door, which none of it is true or scriptural. Some say you must be of a certain denomination or go to a certain church to be saved. It is by the Blood that was shed by Jesus Christ on Calvary that we are saved and nothing else.  "without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins."

What can wash away those sins, dear friends? Nothing but the blood of Jesus, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. What can wash away my sins, nothing but the blood of Jesus? What can make me whole again, nothing but the blood of Jesus? So, there is no remission outside the blood of Jesus. You cannot mix blood and water, or blood and church membership, or blood and works, or any other thing, simply through faith in the blood of Jesus Christ do we have remission of our sins. Praise God for salvation by grace through faith in the finished work of Christ

Bringing God’s Glory Back To A Fallen Nation

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (Chronicles 7-14)

Most Americans realize and can see that our country is in a state of chaos which is fast leading to anarchy. Madness, confusion, pandemonium, and turmoil already prevail in this country and it is getting worse every day. People do not feel safe in their own homes. As a Christian we can get a better grip or view of what is really happening in America. What we are seeing is the Bible version of what is happening in America, or better yet warning of; “We Reap What We Sow” For some people it may be hard to understand but not for the true followers of Jesus Christ. As a nation we are truly reaping what we are sowing, or have already sowed and it is not good. You cannot go against God’s Word and think you will not reap the whirlwind.

I know that you have heard this many times and more than once from me, but it needs to be said again; America was founded on God’s Word and because of that we have prospered as a nation. Our laws, justice system, government, and our way of life were all based on Christianity. We could see that Word in our schools, court houses, and all government buildings. As long as these were there and we served the Lord we prospered as a nation and there was peace and prosperity. God granted His grace on America and because of His Grace our country has prospered and America became a great nation.

Now every presents of God has been removed from our schools, our court houses, and government buildings. America has gone against God’s Word. We as a nation have murdered millions of unborn babies. We have sold their body parts and discarded what was left. Babies that God knew, while they were still in the mother’s womb that were murdered and disposed of like trash. America will be held accountable for this sin. We wonder why America is in the shape that it is in.

God has said, more than once in His Word, in the Old Testament and the New Testament that man having sex with a man is a abomination. Then there are women having sex with other women. Our children in school are told that it is just a different life style. Anybody that believes and okays this as an excepted life style is deceived and their minds are seared.  It is the same thing as trying to put square pegs into round holes. As a Bible believing, born again, American I know what happened to Sodom for this sin and judgment is coming to America for the same sin if there is no repentance.

For the past 7 ½ years we have had a president who is evil and there is no other way of saying it. He is evil. Let me qualify that statement. He has stated the Bible is out of date, makes fun of some of the scriptures and just recently has light up the outside of the white House with red, yellow, and blue lights in support of the homosexual community. Now he has signed a law that allows men to use a woman’s bathrooms because they feel like they are a woman in a man’s body. The sad fact is people who claim to be Christians voted for this man knowing what he believed in. They turned their back on God and His Word. Judgment is coming and woe to the ones it is coming upon.

AMERICA: It Is Your Last Call!

The American people need to wake up from their sleep of eternal death and eternal damnation. It is, or soon will be, the last call for America. If you love your country then it is time to truly wake up from the sleep of death and shake off the wickedness that has overwhelmed this country. It is a time for much fasting and prayer. The American people have been so indifferent to the wickedness and sins in this country that these sins are multiplying the wickedness in the country. Some churches are now calling evil good. They have turned from Christ, the Cross, and that blood that was spilled there. They have put their faith in money, the government, and other things that were once called sin.
We have leaders (in the church as well as the government) that call bad good and good bad. What was once a sin is now the normal thing in our country. Homosexuals and lesbians are called a different life style. In most states they can now legally be married and are being married in churches who proclaim to be the Lord's servants. God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. The sad part about it is that natural itself tells a person that this is wrong. America is murdering unborn babies by the thousands and it is called birth control. God calls it murder! He knows who we are, even when we are in the womb. America's president (Obama) states that some of the Bible is not for today, poking fun at some of the scriptures. Some people think hr is, or call him the messiah, which is pure blasphemy.  Wickedness is multiplying in America and God's judgments are starting to fall on the country and most people do not even have a glue or even know what is happening. For them it is let us eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow they may die. So sad! The truth is, when you die (a physical death) your life is not over.
With hardly any protest at all Americans and the church have let all types of filth such as certain types of movies (ones that would never be permitted years ago), magazines, violent cartoons, and video games to be exposed to our children until such stuff degenerates their minds until many do not know right from wrong. All Americans can see the results of these things. We can see it on TV every night. As long as these things are permitted the will in the minds of our children and their parents against these things will be broken. As long as these things are permitted we will have thieves who steal, murders, mass killings, rapist, uncontrollable lust, infidels, traitors, sluggards (people who will not work), blasphemers, and people who are against the Word of God. Millions of Americans are being deceived by these things, as well as being deceived by the evil government that is in control of this country. leaders who would be god if they could get away with it. Our leaders have turned everything that is true, good, and holy, into something that is not for today. This stinks in the nostrils of our God.
America as a nation has become sick and depraved from top to bottom and needs to repent like Nineveh before it is too late. America's cup of iniquity is full and judgments is coming to the home and the land of the once free. Are we going to let these sins and our depraved leaders destroy us and our country? Anybody who reads the Bible knows God's word and know the ones who commit such things are worthy of death, and the ones who have pleasure in them, also. (Romans 1: 29-32). There is a day coming, soon, the judgments where every person must give an account for their deeds. Be not deceived America: You will reap what you so" America needs a revival that starts with you and me!

If God Be For Us, Who Can Be Against Us?

It is impossible for any human words to express the full measure of this delightful statement, “God is for me.” He was for us before the universe was made. He was for us when He gave His well beloved son for us. He was for us when He struck the only Begotten and laid the full weight of His wrath on Him; He was for us, though “against Him”. He was for us when we were ruined in the Fall; He loved us despite all.

He was for us when we were rebels, defying Him with clenched fist. He was for us when He led us to humbly seek His face. He has been with us in many struggles; we have been summoned to encounter a multitude of dangers, and we have been assailed by internal and external temptations. How could we have remained unharmed to this hour if He was not for us? He is for us with the infinity of His being, the omnipotence of His love, and the infallibility of his wisdom.

He is for us, arrayed in all His divine attributes. He is eternally and unchangeably for us. He will be for us when the blue skies are rolled up like a worn out garment. He will be for us throughout eternity. Because He is for us, our prayers will always secure His help. “When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back.” This is not a uncertain hope, but a well grounded assurance: “this I know.” I will direct my prayer to God and will look to Him for the answer, assured that it will come and my enemies will be defeated, for God is foe me.”  O believer, how happy you are with the King of Kings on your side! How safe you are with such a Protector! How sure is your cause, when it is pleaded by such a Advocate! “If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31)

Make Believe Christians

But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. [Revelation 2:6]

The Nicolaitans,(or as we would call them today "make believe Christians", were a sect of people in Bible days that were Gnostics and they departed from the Word of God just like the church today. They had a form of Godness but They  practiced and taught impure and immoral doctrines that went against the teachings of the church and the Word of God, such as committing adultery and fornication, having a community of wives to share and then saying it was not sin. They did all this while still going to the synagogue to worship the Lord.   The phase "which I also hate" gives to us, (Those who read God's Word), in no uncertain terms, the Lord's position as it regards the deeds of the Nicolaitans. Anyone can see. if they had spiritual eyes and believed in God's Word that they were living contrary to the word of God. We read this in the book of Psalms:"through your precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way." {Psalms 119:104]

We have in America today make believe Christians or if you please  "Nicolaitans" just like in Bible days, people who sit in the Churches of our Lord and think that it is okay to have abortion on demand, for homosexuals to be married to each other and in some churches stand behind the sacred desk and preach the word of God. Some who do not believe in abortion or homosexual marriage will go against their belief and the teachings of the church to vote for people like Obama to lead this country, who also teach and pass laws to promote these false ways. Some voted for him because of his skin color without looking at his heart. The Lord hates what these make believe Christians are doing (It is sin) and they will answer to him for it if they do not repent.

Gnostics, in Bible days, thought that they were pure because of their knowledge. Whenever they practiced what others called sin or evil they thought they were not doing anything wrong. Such thinking is in direct opposition to God's Word and our Christian faith, no matter if it was in Bible days or it is in our day. People think today that if they are a member of a denomination or church group then they can do what they want.

It is sad when a Christian will turn away from the teachings of the church to vote for a person or a political party that go against the teachings found in the Word of God or refuses to have God as a part of their platform, because of the material things that they might receive or because of what political party they belong to, or a persons skin color. To vote for such people is the same thing as saying it is alright for these leaders to go against God's word. What will their excuse be when they stand before the Lord?

It is time for all that believe in the Lord Jesus to put on the whole armor of God and have the courage to walk in the truth and the true light of the Lord. Christians cannot let the make believe Christians {the Nicolaitans]  in America to hinder and stop true Christians from restoring what God has ordained in His church and in the land of the free and the brave.  It is time to stand up for Jesus, His teachings, and be counted!

Forget Not All His Benefits

It is a delightful and profitable occupation to mark the hand of God in the lives of ancient saints and to observe His goodness in delivering them, His mercy in pardoning them, and his faithfulness in keeping His covenant with them. But would it not be more interesting and profitable for us to notice the hand of God in our own lives? Should we not look on our own history as being at least as full of God, as full of His goodness and of his truth, as much a proof of His faithfulness and veracity, as the lives of any of the saints who have gone before?

We do our Lord a injustice when we suppose that He wrought all his mighty acts and showed Himself strong for those in early times, but does not perform wonders or "bare His Holy arm" (Isaiah 52:10) for the saints who are now on the earth. Let us view our own lives. Surely in these we may discover some happy incidents, refreshing to ourselves and glorifying to our God.

Have you had no deliverances? Have you passed through no rivers, supported by the divine presence? Have festations? Have you no choice favors? The God who gave Solomon the desire of his heart, has he never listen to you and answered your request? The God of lavish bounty of whom David sang, "Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things" (Psalms 103:5), has He never satiated you with fatness?

Have you never been made to lie down in green pastures? Have you never been lead by the still waters? Surely the goodness of God has been the same to us as to the saints of old. Let us, weave His mercies into a song. Let us take the pure gold of thankfulness and the jewels of praise and make them into another crown for the head of Jesus. Let our souls give forth music as sweet and as exhilarating as came from David's harp, while we praise the Lord whose mercy endures forever.

Standing For The Truth

If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up. (Daniel 3:17-18)
This is one of the strongest examples of steadfast faith in the Bible.  Notice how carefully the three Hebrew children answered Nebuchadnezzar and also notice how they were,  able to be delivered themselves from his hand. The same way the Hebrew children were delivered God can and will deliver those who have the faith to believe.

I truly believe that it is coming to the time that all Christians need this kind of faith. The Hebrew children were accused of not bowing down to and worshiping the image, but the real reason was the Chaldeans hated the Hebrew Children. That is the real reason for this accusation. Just as the Hebrew children were hated then, we as Christians are hated now.

The same thing is coming upon Christians or even worse could happen to them in today’s world.  We are being hated more everyday even by our own government. In some circles we are called terrorist and worse for standing up for what we believe in. The enemy has already reached our shores. He is in the White House, The government, our communities, and even our churches.  It is no time to be a luke warm Christian. It is time to stand up and put on the whole armor of God.

Listen fellow Christian right now, in America we may not have to face the decision to die for our faith, but it is coming and soon. Every day each and every one of us must face the decision to live for it. We must have that determination and resolve to go all the way with Jesus.  Jesus is the way, the truth, and the light. There is no other way.

We have so much deception in the world and even in the churches. Look what is being passed out to us as being good. There is the one world government, Chrislam (the deadly heresy of Chrislam which denies Jesus as the only way. The people in these churches are deceived and think they are doing a good thing. We have homosexual being married and ordained in our churches, when the Bible speaks against the sin That is just some of the things that are happening and deceiving many Christians. We as Christians must take our stand for the Gospel. Stand up for Jesus! We have our marching orders in the Holy Scriptures. Know and understand what the Bible says.

We must be like the three Hebrew children. They would not bow; they would not budge; and guess what: THEY DID NOT BURN!

WHERE ARE THE PROPHETS THAT ARE TROUBLING AMERICA

The eighteenth chapter of 1 Kings is a very good chapter in the Bible to read. In it we see Ahab, the wicked king of Israel, addressing the prophet Elijah: "Is that you, you troubler of Israel?"  The only trouble with Elijah was he told the truth. That is what we need now people who tell the truth. The truth is America is headed down the broad road to destruction.

I have said before, many times, over the past few years in different postings on Face Book, different articles on my Blogs, and articles in local newspapers that during my seventy years God has granted me on this earth I have never seen America in such bad shape. We, as a nation, are on the road for destruction and we are being lead down that road by our leaders. They are just plain lost without God or His Son. That fact is millions of Americans are in the same boat. LOST, without God or His Son.. They have sold America out for a free cell phone and a EBT card. That will sounds crazy to most people but the truth is the truth. As far as the preachers in this country there are a few who have not bent their knee to Baal.

When you can read in the local newspaper about a person who calls himself a man of God but puts his stamp of approval on homosexual marriages, abortions, and other gay rights you know that we are headed for trouble. You know we are headed for trouble when we have churches all across this nation that now have Muslims and Christians worshipping together, as they say to the same God. How can that be? One religion is one of hate and the other one is of love. How can bitter and sweet be together? You know we are headed for trouble when the president of the United States will not call the killing of innocent people in the name of Allah what it is; Islamic Terrorism. You know we are in trouble when our government is letting thousands in that are not vetted. How can this government properly vet them when they could not even vet one who killed or wounded over a hundred people in Orlando, Florida.  Expect more of this to happen under this present leadership and also under Hillary Clinton if she is elected president. Both of these people are evil.

Hillary Clinton will keep with the same policy that Obama has had for nearly eight years. She has accepted millions of dollars from Middle East Countries and it is documented on several conservative web sites. It is not just talk. Hannity on Fox News showed exactly where she was getting her money from to finance her bid for president.  It comes from the very people who want to destroy America. And we have people voting for her. They will believe a lie and in the end be damned. She has lied all her life from Watergate to the present on numerous things. Like when she said she was under fire as she got off airplane in Middle East and it was a proven that she lied, then there are her private servers. To be blunt she is a liar and she is deceiving the American people.

We have let a Trojan horse in our country, Obama and now we are paying the price for a free cell phone, easier to get EBT cards, and many other free things. Our country has been sold out by people who can only see the free stuff. This is very scary. The people who would vote for such people as Clinton and Obama are scary. They are listening to Obama and Hillary Clinton like Eve listen to the sly serpent in the Garden of Eden. They have sold their souls and if it keeps up they will face the whirl wind.

If our nation keeps on the same road it is on and elects Hillary Clinton as the leader of this nation then we are doomed for destruction. When any nation not only justifies but also promotes ungodly sins such as abortion, homosexuals, lesbianism, transgenders and excepts it as a lifestyle, that nation is in the last stages of moral corruption. The destruction of Sodom was the end result of the reprobate and degenerate mind. Sad to say there are too many reprobate minds in America even to the highest levels of our government. We all know what the end to this country will be if it does not turn around and repent. You know we are in trouble when we elect a Muslim to the highest office in our land. Oh Lord let my voice be heard, let me be one of your people that troubles America.

The Pretender

Sometimes as children we played “make believe” games a lot. It was always fun when we became a imaginary doctor, policeman, or teacher, with just a simple notion. We were pretenders. I wonder if any of us ever thought about the first pretender, who was the great pretender. Pretending is fine if you are a small child playing with others. But there comes a time in our life when pretending can become a very serious thing. For instants in the Bible we read in the book of Judges Delilah pretended to love Samson and we all know the end result. Sapphira and her husband pretend and said to Paul that they gave all the money when they sold their property to the Lord, when they held some of it back. That pretend game cost both of them their life. God knows all. We cannot pretend with him. Judas pretended to be Jesus’ friend and in the end look what it cost him. It cost him not only his life, but it also cost him his eternal home.
There are great pretenders who live in today’s world who claim to know God and His Son, Jesus Christ, but far be it from being so! Many pretending Christians will say when the Lord returns lord we have prophesied in your name, and we have cast devils out in your name, and we have done many wonderful works, or look how many thousands are in our church, but Christ will say to them depart from me you who work iniquity,  (wickedness, evil, and sin).  Satan is pleased when he can get people to play his deadly game of pretending. (1 Peter 5:8)
We have people in the Churches of the living God today that are pretenders. They pretend to be saved but are really not. We have people that are liars, some who commit adultery, homosexuals, and man pleasers, and you name it they only play the game of being a follower of Jesus Christ. They may have their names on the church books but are pretenders. Like the great pretender they will have a end some day.

Christ died for us so we do not have to pretend about anything. People need to stop pretending and be genuine in their trust and obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ our soon coming King.

LET NOT YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED!

Image result for let not your heart be troubledLet not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. (John 14:1-2)
A person may be poor; they may live in what they or someone else call a shack. Some may live in card broad boxes, and others may wonder why it should be thus all the day long, but there is one thing for sure for all of you that are saved you will one day live close to the throne of God. Do not despair, because there is hope beyond tomorrow. There will be a time when there will be no more tears, no more pain, no more burdens to bear, no more sorrow, no more trips to the graveyard. What a day that will be when our Jesus we shall see.

If you read some other literal translations that are on the market today they would read do not let your heart shudder or tremble, [From fear]. Well, this is indeed a hard command because these days we have so much to shudder or tremble about. It is very easy for a person to be troubled in these unsettling times. Even much more as that day approaches. Think about it. We are troubled by the economy and how it is going to affect us. There are so many people out of a job these days, even in your own church congregation. The cost of everything is going up every day and it makes parents who do not have any source of income wonder how they can make ends meet. People on retirement worry about their social security and will it be there the next time. Worrying will go from one thing to the other. It is natural for man to worry about things that are out of his control, but worrying will get you no place in this life. There is only one way and that is to trust and obey, for there is no other way.

What is trust? Trust is knowing, with all your heart that God will answer your prayer. Trust is the conviction, the assurance, and the certainly that God will indeed work in all things that matter in the lives of His people for their good.

So let me leave you with this thought when you are worried, scared, or uneasy thoughts come your way, remind yourself of  what Jesus said; let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” Even when things appear the worse have faith because you are a child of God.

The Lord Shut Him In.

Image result for noah And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the Lord shut him in. (Genesis 7:16)

Noah was shut in away from all the world by the hand of divine love. The door of election comes between us and the world in which one exists. We are not of this world, even as [Jesus was] not of this world. Into the sin, the gaiety, the pursuits of the multitude we cannot enter; we can not play in the streets of vanity fair with the children of darkness, for our heavenly Father has shut us in.

Noah was shut in with his God. "Come thou and all thy house into the ark" (Genesis 7-1) was the Lord's invitation, by which He clearly showed that He himself intended to dwell in the ark with His servant and his family. Thus all the chosen dwell in God and God in them. Happy people to be enclosed in the same circle that contains God in the Trinity of His persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Let us never be inattentive to that gracious call.

Come, my people, enter into your chambers, and shut your doors about you, and hide yourself as it were for a little moment until the indignation is gone. Noah was so shut up in that no evil could reach him. Floods did but  lift him heavenward, and winds did but waft (blow him gently) him on his way.  Outside of the ark was all ruin, but inside all was rest and peace. Without Christ we perish, but in Christ Jesus there is perfect safety.

Noah was so shut in that he could not even desire to come out, and those who are in Christ Jesus are in Him forever. They will go no more out forever, for eternal faithfulness has shut them in, and infernal malice cannot drag them out. The Prince of the house of David "shutteth, and no man openeth" (Rev. 3:7) When once in the last days, as the master house, He will rise up and shut the door, it will be in vain for mere professors of faith to knock, and cry "Lord, Lord open unto us," for that same door that shuts in the wise virgins will shut out the foolish forever. Lord shut me in Your grace.

THIS I KNOW

"The Lord knowth them that are His" (11 Timothy 2:19)

I do not know what next may come
Across my pilgrim way,
I do not know tomorrow's road
Nor see beyond today,
But this I know- My Savior knows
The path I cannot see,
And I can trust His Wounded hand
To guild and care for me.

I do not know what may befall
Of sunshine or of rain,
I do not know what may be mine
Of pleasure or of pain.
But This I know - My Savior knows,
And whatsoe'er  it will be,
Still I can trust His Love to give
What will be best for me.

I do not know what still waits
Or what the marrow brings,
But with the glad salute of faith
I hail its opening wings!
For this I know - That in My Lord
Shall all my needs be met,
And I can trust the heart of Him
Who has not failed me yet.

The Golden Example

What a golden example Christ gives to His disciples! Few teachers could venture to say,  “If you want to practice my teaching, imitate my life.” But since the life of Jesus is the exact transcript of perfect virtue, He can point to himself as the paragon of holiness, as well as the teacher of it. The Christian should take nothing short of Christ for his model. Under no circumstances should we be content unless we reflect the grace that was in Him.
 The Christian husband is to look at the portrait of Jesus and he is to paint his life according to that copy. The true Christian is to be a husband in the same way that Christ was to His church. The love of a husband is special.  The Lord Jesus cherishes the church and has a special affection for her that is set upon her above the rest of mankind: “I pray for them: I pray not for the world” {John 17:9}
The church is the favorite of heaven and the treasure of Christ, the crown of His head, the bracelet of His arm, the breastplate of His heart, the very core of his love. A husband should love his wife with a constant love, for thus Jesus loves His church. He does nor vary in His affection. He may change in His display of affection, but the affection itself is the same. A husband should love his wife with an enduring love, for nothing “shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord”  {Romans 8:39}
A true husband loves his wife with a hearty love that is fervent and intense. It is not mere lip service. Beloved what more could Christ have done to prove His love than He has done? Jesus has a delighted love toward His spouse. He prizes her affection and delights in her sweet satisfaction. Believer, you are amazed by Jesus’ love. You admire it, but are you imitating it? In your domestic relationships is the rule and measure of your love to be “”even as Christ also loved the church”?

In Today's Word What Are You Building?

In a day of violence and God's impending wrath, what should a man of God be Building? Noah built an ark. In Noah's day, the earth ...
