The Cost of Our Freedom!

images (2) "Behold, days are coming," declares the Lord GOD, "When I will send a famine on the land, Not a famine for bread or a thirst for water, But rather for hearing the words of the Lord.12 "People will stagger from sea to sea And from the north even to the east; They will go to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, But they will not find it. [Amos 8:12}

As I was thinking this morning, the day after the Forth of July I was reminded of the price that was paid for our freedom that we as Americans share today, Democrats, Republicans, liberals, conservatives, and people of all races all share in that liberty. God has shed His grace on America!

What a lot of people in this country fail to realize or do not know is the other great prices that were paid for people, not only in this country, but all over the other English speaking counties of this world. And that is the price paid for the Bible, that you read today. We must never take that for granted, because there was a price paid for the privilege we have today. We must never take it for granted!

During the 16th century a man by the name of William Tyndale who was a Englishman, translated the Bible into English while living in Germany. In the year 1525, he published The New Testament in English. But the church leaders, at that time, were not happy or in agreement with him and they angrily sought to destroy Tyndale and his translation of the scriptures. He was brought back to England and then he was burned at the stake. As Tyndale was dying, he said these last words: "Lord open the eyes of the King of England." His prayer was answered when the King of England. King James had the entire Bible published in English  a hundred years later. From there it was published in many other languages.

The English Bible became a reality because of Tyndale's sacrifice, which was at the price of his life’s blood. Let us not let our Bibles sit gathering dust, because dust on the Bible will doom your poor soul! When we consider the cost that was paid so we could read it in our language, let's all take full advantage of this precious gift. This taste of freedom that we enjoy 4th of July is only a taste of the real freedom we have in Jesus The Christ.

The American have repeatedly ignored and then rejected the Laws, warning, and messages that are found in the Word of God. They have allowed all kinds of sin to come into the church and have for the most part have excepted it. Now we have this new religion that is creeping into our churches, Chrislam, and if it goes unchecked will take over. The church and its people will get what they ask for and the true preachers of the gospel  will become silent. The church will not have anyone to challenge them and in the end people will cry out for God’s Word and just as Amos said to the people in his day, they will look for it and not find it! But those bought with His royal blood will, because it will be anchored in our hearts!
