Onward Christian Soldier

ONWARD CHRISTIAN SOLDIER, MARCHING AS TO WAR! What a grand old song of the Church. We have heard this favorite for decades in the Church. I wonder how many Christians that sing this song really stop and believe in the words to the song. I'm sure there is a not many that do With these words we begin to see the war we are in. We are in a war against good and evil. We are in a conflict against same sex marriages, homosexuals, lesbians, abortion, drugs, alcohol, Muslim terrorist who want to destroy us for our Christian faith, Satan sneaking into the churches with false doctrine, and all sin that would and is bringing this nation and this world to its knees. How we handle this war is how our nation will rise or fall. We first must remember that we are not struggling against what we see, even though what we see is very real. Satan only uses people and countries that he has a grasp on to carry out and do his polluted work. We are in truth fighting Satan and his demon spirits. Flesh and blood cannot fight against this nor can it win the battle. So how do we fight it? How do we go to battle against it? How do we overcome it before it defeats us? This is a Good question, Paul tells in the book of Ephesians Chapter Six the following;

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might.

Put on the whole armour of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; (Ephesians 6: 10-18)

After reading this these verses we can see we will never win the battle against the evil that is in this world in the flesh. We can call our congressmen and anybody else we want but without the help of God it is a losing battle. Without applying the principals of the scriptures above we will be defeated every time. We must be persistent in the fight. It is our responsibility as Christians, but we also need to put God in the battle. As Christians we can make a difference in this world and our country, but God must be in our efforts to conquer the evil. In all our efforts we need to put on that whole armour of God. Every man or women that we send to Washington, DC needs that armour. In their self they can do nothing except make more laws that really do not help. The basic idea is that we need to REPENT as a nation and turn back to God's Laws. It was good enough for my ancestors and it is good enough for you and me.
