I Can Remember When

I can remember when former President Nixon said this: "It is the family unit that makes this great nation what it is" Now if you stop and think about what he said he was and still is right! When I was growing up my family went to church together, prayed together, had Bible Studies in the house, grace was said at the table, and everybody in my family knew that it was God that provided for us and this country. So now most families do not even send their kids to church let alone going with them. All their education now is given in school and we all know how that turns out.
When I was growing up there was no government hand outs, because your neighbors and the church was always there until a family or person got back on their feet. Now we have the great society with the government stepping in and no one wants to get back on their feet. They just want the hand outs.

When we were kids we were taught what was right and what was wrong by our parents in the home. Now the government has taken over telling our kids what is right and what is wrong in their political correct way because they say it takes a whole village to raise a child. So now they are being told a lot of untruths, with the big one being: "It is okay to be a homosexual. It is just a different life style" And these people say they are Christians! what Bible do they read? It must be different from mine, because mine says it is a sin. The government passes out condoms and birth control pills in our school when they should be teaching abstinence. Our country has murdered millions and millions of unborn babies and we call ourself's a Christian nation. God have mercy on us.

This country is headed for disaster soon if it does not turn back from its evil ways and cry out to a merciful God for forgiveness in true repentance. I'm telling you it is coming and the fall will be great. This scripture has been on my mind for months and it will not go away:

Though the fig tree should not blossom,
nor fruit be on the vines,
the produce of the olive fail
and the fields yield no food,
the flock be cut off from the fold
and there be no herd in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the LORD;
I will take joy in the God of my salvation.

THE YOUNG MARINE: I'll Just Stay A While

The nurse finally returned and started to offer her sympathy, but the Marine interrupted her. He asked, “ Who was that man?” The nurse was startled and said, “ He is your father”. The Marine replied, “ No he is not, I never saw him before in my life”. The nurse said to the Marine, “ Then why did you not say anything when I took you to him”? T he Marine replied by saying , “ I knew right away there was a mistake, but I knew that he needed his son, and his son was just not there. When I realized that he was too sick to tell whether I was his son or not his son and saw how sick that he was, and how much he needed me, I stayed. I came here tonight to find a Mr. William Gray to inform him that his son was killed in Iraq today. What was this gentleman's name” The nurse, with tears in her eyes, answered, “ Mr William Gray ”.

Submitting To The Government: or should we

There has always been a controversy over the relationship of the church and the government. How should we as Christian's and God's people react to an ungodly government such as we have today? The Lord tell us plainly in His word that we are to respect the government of the land and to obey the laws. This is true because the people need certain restraints to stop the chaos and the breaking of the laws which come from sin. However the government of any given country, including ours, is just like anything else: They are subject to God's laws and His instruction. Notice that God says the government is His servant to you {the people} for good. Now What does that mean? It is really simple, if you read and study God's word you will soon see in detail what our Lord means! When any government abandons its proper roll or function it stops being the governing body that the Lord designed. Let me make that even more plainer for those of you that are having a hard time what I'm saying. When a government puts into place a law that does not agree with God's law we are to oppose it and speak out against it because it is no longer blessed by God!
For example when our government made the killing of unborn babies {it's called abortion} even in the ninth month of pregnancy, legal we are to stand against it. When our country gives homosexuals specials rights we are to oppose it. When we have a president that says some of the Bible is not for today then we are to oppose him. Our Lord tells us plainly that His word changes not and we also read where His word is settled in Heaven. Our Lord is the same today as He was yesterday, and He will be that way for ever. When we have a president that says that some of our God given constitution needs to be changed it is time to oppose him. When we have a president {who claims to be a Christian} that has said the greatest sound is the call to Muslims for morning prayer then we as Christians need to oppose him. When we have a leader that says we are the largest Muslim nation in the world then it is time to oppose him. When a nation's wall are broken down and the enemy floods in , it is time to oppose those who will do nothing about it. When a country and its leaders wants you to be “ Politically Correct” instead of “Biblical Correct” it is time to oppose them.
How are we to oppose them. Are we to become violent? Are we to rebel against them? The answer is no. So how do we oppose them? We are to lift up our voice and cry aloud and spare not. We are to make know our feelings and thoughts known. We are to seek the Lord for His deliverance. We are to cry out day and night for deliverance. We are not to hold our peace. Brother Paul, all through the Bible, was not violent but he cried out and so did all the Old Testament prophets against leaders that did not up hold God's standards. I would not want to be any person that calls their self a Christian who votes for a man or women because of their party affiliation, their skin color, or what that man or woman promises when they know that person, who they are voting for, goes against God's Laws and His standards. What will they say when they stand before the Master and give an account of their life.
Remember this when a government requires something contrary to God's Word we are to obey God's Word and His Law. This does not mean that we are to stop praying for our leaders because we should never stop. Daniel and the Hebrew children served the leaders in the country that they were in, but they never went against God's Word or His Laws. Remember what the Lord said: “Give back to Caesar the things that are Caesars and to God The things that are God's. Remember a government is an institution ordained by the Lord for His people's benefit, but it can become twisted, evil, corrupt, and very dangerous when it gets out of its proper God given function. So let us pray for our leaders, but let us also ask our God to move on them to do what is right or remove them from their office at election time. It is time for all Christians to take a stand.

Keeping Jesus in Christmas

As the Christmas season starts and people get into the full swing of buying gifts, visiting family, all the parties, and all the great dinners, the odd reality is that in many homes in this great country and in the hearts of many people Christ, who would bringing with him the gift of unconditional and lasting love, will be absent from this birthday party. What a shame to honor our Savior this way!
“ EXTRA, EXTRA, READ ALL ABOUT IT!”It's the greatest news [The Good News] that America and the world has ever known. God came to Earth in the form of a little baby and grew and faced the same challenges and problems as we do. I find it incomprehensible and shocking that Jesus loves the world so much that He bore all the suffering for your sins, my sins and the sins of the world. He did that for you and me and everyone you know. Yet, the celebration and the festivities of the Lord's love has been reduced to the bright lights, the fun, the parties, and happiness of the "holidays" [politically correct term for Christmas] with hardly a reference or a comment of who it is we are celebrating and what Christmas is truly about. Such a shame.
When we as a person, a family, or a nation, refuse, reject, and resist the truly deep spiritual meaning of Christmas and at the same time grab every chance to party, open presents, and take time off from our jobs and businesses , a sad national and personal emptiness results in the end. Yes, there is beauty and joy in celebrating our love for family and friends, but human love can only go so far. It is imperfect and fleeting, and even when it seems as close to pure as possible, it still cannot fill the empty hole in our souls that is lost by not having the real true meaning of Christmas as a part of our activities and celebrations.
Because most people have successfully removed Christ from the Christmas season, many poor souls who might otherwise come to know Him through the attention He should be getting will go through just another holiday season as the proud owners of a few trinkets and novelties that will sooner or later tarnish, wear out and break, with a big bill for it all to boot. They will start the new year the same as they left the old one, looking, searching, hoping, wanting, longing for something more. Something that only Jesus can give. They missed it all! I wonder how many homes across this nation that it will be the same way.
As our society closes the door on Christ for the sake of political correctness, don't shut Him out of your home. Never be ashamed of Jesus! If you believe in the Lord then invite Him to your Christmas party this year and every year. When He knocks at your door let Him in. It will be the Greatest Christmas gift you ever got!! If you do Christmas, for you and your house, will never be the same.
Merry Christmas To All,
Bill
